About Laughter Africa

Laughter Africa works to support street children in Sierra Leone, helping them fulfil their aspirations and transform their lives. Our vision is a world where street children are respected, safe, and able to laugh again.

We work through a three-phase approach:

Our Approach

Outreach & Mobile Project

Social workers engage with street children where they live, providing immediate support such as food, medical care, counselling, and life skills workshops. Creative and recreational activities, themed events, and trips help build trust and keep children engaged.

Interim Care Centre

A safe space where children receive food, clothing, healthcare, education, counselling, and enrichment activities. The centre supports children in recovering from street life and breaking cycles of addiction, giving them a chance to thrive in a stable environment.

Family Reunification & Ongoing Support

Social workers trace families and facilitate reunification when it is safe. Children continue to receive educational and financial support, along with regular follow-ups to prevent a return to the streets.
