Meet the team

Laughter Africa is run by a board of four volunteer trustees in the UK. They’re legally responsible for the charity: they make the big decisions, check our money is well spent, and approve our budget, annual report and accounts. They meet regularly, talk about safeguarding at every meeting, and none of them is paid or has any financial interest in our work.

Our team in Sierra Leone
Moses Sheriff
Head of Administration

Moses has been with Laughter Africa from the very beginning. He was the first person we ever interviewed, back in April 2015, and joined us as a social worker. Today he's our Head of Administration, looking after everything from the accounts and HR to keeping us on the right side of the law, and he's our safeguarding focal point in Sierra Leone.

Moses leads our local team of staff and volunteers, who run mobile and the Interim Care Centre, get children home to their families, and support them back into school or training.

Everything we do relies on our brilliant volunteers, both in Sierra Leone, where they help run mobile and the Interim Care Centre, and in the UK, where they fundraise, give talks and keep things ticking over.
