Behind every statistic is a real young person with memories, stories, and pain. Sheku, Beatrice, Sylvanus, Abdul, Christiana, Mary, and Aisha are just some of the street children Laughter Africa has supported in Sierra Leone. Each name represents a life, not a number.

Street life brings unimaginable challenges—violence, abuse, illness, and displacement—but every child has the potential to overcome these obstacles with care, support, and opportunity. When children accept our help, they become part of the Laughter Africa family. We celebrate their journey, capturing memories, stories, and achievements as part of their belonging.

Many children contribute their stories to our online book, sharing their path from the streets, their experiences, and their hopes for the future. By following their progress, finding a job, reconnecting with family, or pursuing education, you see them not as “street children,” but as individuals with names, dreams, and a place in our community.
